Betternet for Windows is an easy-to-use application that will let you surf the web anonymously through a VPN (Virtual Private Network).

Installation is straightforward and installs the program as well as a network driver. Once completed, all you have to do is choose a country one time and press connect. To stop it from running, you can close it or press the disconnect. Connecting can be a little slow (30 seconds or so), but we found that surfing most websites was almost as fast as not having it, a massive plus for this program. The program tracks your time and bandwidth used, and that's about it, pretty simple.

The company tries to be transparent by showing its costs and resources to keep the app alive and promises that it will always be free. They say it will be free forever to support them by installing apps inside the program. There are no such links in the program currently, so we assume this might come down the road.
